Miscellaneous Policies

Transportation

Tulare County Farm Bureau is in favor of supporting both the Highway 65 and 198 projects and also encourage those communities involved to work together to ensure that this does come about.

Marketing Orders

Tulare County Farm Bureau in agreement with both the CFBF and the AFBF policies strongly supports the principle of marketing orders which are used as self help tools for today's farmers.  Tulare County Farm Bureau strongly opposes and is critical of present USDA administration for making any substantive change in a marketing order during the course of the harvest season through the proper procedures.

Per Parcel Assessment

Tulare County Farm Bureau opposes county service areas funded by per parcel assessment.

Oak Tree Ordinance

Tulare County Farm Bureau opposes the oak tree ordinance but supports preservation of oak trees in Tulare County on a voluntary basis.

Payments of CFBF Delegate and Alternate Expenses

Since delegates are paid a per diem for attendance to the annual meeting, they will be billed by TCFB for pre-registration, hotel deposits, spouse registration and other expense prepaid by TCFB.

TCFB will pay for alternate delegates' expenses or registration and lodging.  Spouse registration is not paid by TCFB.

It is suggested that alternates receive per diem equivalent to delegates per diem.  Number of alternates will be the same number as delegates.  Suggested that alternates be given more responsibility and accountability.

Fruitfly Action Committee Task Force

FACT will be under the umbrella of Tulare County Farm Bureau.
